PRIVATE RESIDENCE. BEDSTUY, BROOKLYN

For this custom light fixture, we turned 32 white oak light-forms on the lathe. The branching arms are made with custom-milled poplar and brush painted to match the ceiling. There are two main 'mother' forms which house and distribute wiring to the rest of the lights across the ceiling. There are three sizes of light-forms and the chord lengths vary in height to create the feel of a floating light field.

BUDIN

114 GREENPOINT AVE. BROOKLYN, NY

For this Nordic inspired coffeehouse/retail space, we exclusively used white oak, red oak (taken from a fallen tree during Hurricane Sandy), and waxed steel. The minimal treatment of solid materials gives the whole space a sunny yet cozy feel. We built low tables for seating up front, bar tables with steel bases to run along the wall, a 25' mitred bar using a single piece of red oak, and a series of nesting tables and divided shelving in the retail area.
